We are strongly committed to making the environment
better. We
recycle used leather for the handgrips on walking sticks and
use recycled lumber for the twig signs.
Trees are harvested from areas where they would be
cut down or sprayed to keep roadways clear or timber lots
productive. Branches
are removed in the field and piled out of the way to compost
back into the soil. We
habitually collect garbage when we are harvesting twigs.
All of our work is made with pride and is signed and dated.
Take some time to look through the web
site, we have many interesting things available.
If you don’t see it, Email
us and we can see about making it for you.
Most of the material used is Red
Alder. Red
Alder is a nitrogen fixing plant that is often the first tree
to grow in areas that have recently been cleared such as
avalanches, clear-cuts, and roadsides.
The tree ranges from
Alaska
to
Northern California
within a few hundred miles of the Pacific coast.
Occasionally other woods are used
for accents on one of a kind pieces. Walking
sticks and canes are made from all types of wood as long as
the wood is sturdy and light weight. Sticks are available
plain, with carving, woodburning, or other accents.
